Catalyx™ | Encapsulated epoxy accelerators and curing agents

Achieve exceptional latency, long-term storage stability and rapid activation during processing

Calyxia’s Catalyx™ range of microencapsulated epoxy accelerators and curing agents addresses a key challenge in thermosetting systems: balancing latency with reactivity. By encapsulating accelerators in heat-activated microcapsules, Catalyx™ products offer long-term storage stability and rapid activation during processing.

Key products included in Catalyx™

Catalyx™ H110

Encapsulated substituted urea accelerator for 1K epoxy adhesives and coatings. Offers improved latency and room temperature stability, reducing waste and eliminating cold storage. Used in automotive structural adhesives and foam systems.

Catalyx™ H210

Encapsulated imidazole accelerator providing fast curing and exceptional latency. Ideal for structural adhesives and industrial epoxy systems where increased production speed and shelf stability are required.

Catalyx™ H310

Encapsulated polyamine accelerator offering controlled exotherm and enhanced thermal stability. Suitable for applications requiring long shelf life and precise curing behaviour.

Key benefits of Catalyx™

Catalyx™ delivers measurable improvements in production and performance:

  • Latency control: encapsulation protects curing agents during storage and handling
  • Fast activation: accelerators are released only during processing, enabling short cycle times
  • Extended shelf life: longer pot life and open time compared to conventional systems
  • Room temperature storage: no need for refrigerated transport or warehousing
  • Lower curing temperatures: suitable for temperature-sensitive substrates
  • Controlled exotherm: improved thermal stability and process control
  • Minimised waste: reduced risk of premature curing and non-conforming batches
