Carbomer Homopolymer Type B. Polymers of acrylic acid crosslinked with ally sucrose or allyl pentaerythritol. Thickener and rheology modifier. Short flow. Bioadhesive, Mucoadhesive agent. Suspension and emulsion stabilizer. Recommended for Semisolids & gels. Suitable for Topical drug delivery, Ophthalmic drug delivery applications. Polymerization solvents are cosolvent mixture of ethyl acetate and cyclohexane (Class II&III). Recommended concentration in Topical 0.5-3 wt%.
