As the world demand for sustainability increases, a heightened social conscience combined with environmental and economic factors is driving the industry need for green chemistry. Discover our Greener Solutions seminars to learn more about greener alternatives and processes.
Companies are increasingly adopting green chemistry practices due to rising costs, stricter regulations, and growing customer demand for sustainable products. During the API manufacturing process, significant amounts of waste by-products and pollutants are generated. It has been estimated that 80% of this waste can be traced back to solvents (Roger Sheldon, ChemTech, 1994). Therefore, solvent selection is crucial in eliminating the environmental burden associated with API manufacture.
We can help! Discover our Greener Solutions Seminars
At IMCD, we are continuing to expand our portfolio of speciality solvents to include raw materials that are derived from renewable feed stocks, have lower toxic potential, or require less energy during manufacturing. But that’s not enough.
Going further, our technical experts (PR&D Chemists from the Pharma and CDMO industry) have developed the Greener Solutions initiative, the first offerings of which are the Greener Solvents seminar and the Greener Reactions seminar.
Our seminars are free, available online, and delivered by chemists for chemists. We provide a balanced insight into greener processes and alternatives to some of the potentially toxic or environmentally harmful raw materials commonly used in chemical synthesis today.
Whether it be our portfolio design or our informative seminars, our Greener Solutions meet this growing need for more environmentally friendly technologies in chemical synthesis. At IMCD, we are pleased to support you in developing more sustainable chemical processes that will differentiate your future-thinking business.
